FIRST Tech Challenge Italy

FIRST Tech Challenge

FIRST Tech Challenge is an international educational robotics program that empowers young people to develop their STEM skills through hands-on learning, creativity, and teamwork. Designed for students in grades 7–12, the program challenges teams of up to 15 students to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a new game challenge each season.

But FIRST Tech Challenge is about much more than building robots. Throughout the season, students learn to solve real-world problems, think critically, manage projects, communicate ideas, and collaborate with others. They put engineering skills into practice while developing the confidence and mindset to become tomorrow’s innovators and leaders.

FIRST Tech Challenge Italy Championship

In Italy, FIRST Tech Challenge is delivered by Associazione Artù APS, the official FIRST Program Delivery Organization responsible for coordinating the program nationwide. Through its network of teams, coaches, mentors, volunteers, and partners, FIRST Tech Challenge Italy supports students throughout their robotics journey, organizes the national competitions, and helps grow a community built around STEM education, innovation, and the FIRST values.

Each season, Italian teams come together to put their skills to the test, share experiences, and celebrate what they have achieved. The season culminates in the FIRST Tech Challenge Italy Championship, the national event that also welcomes eligible international teams.

We are excited to open our Championship to teams from around the world and create new opportunities for international exchange, collaboration, and friendship through robotics!

  1. Check your Team Eligibility

Teams registered for the 2026-2027 season on the FIRST Dashboard can apply to our Championship only if their region does not already have an official FIRST Tech Challenge Championship.

Remember: the two Lead Coaches need to meet the FIRST Youth Protection Program requirements. Every student needs a Consent and Release Form signed by a parent or guardian on the FIRST Dashboard before the event.

  2. Fill in the Registration Form

Complete the registration form (opens another website) with your team’s details. If you are unsure whether your region has an official FIRST Tech Challenge Championship, simply indicate it in the form and we will verify your eligibility with FIRST HQ.

Places are limited, and all requests are reviewed by Associazione Artù APS in coordination with FIRST HQ. Please note that submitting the form does not guarantee a place at the Championship. Starting from November 17th, 2026, the Lead Coaches will be contacted by email and informed whether their team has been allocated a place. If approved, they will also receive the payment instructions and all the necessary information to complete the registration.

A team’s participation is officially confirmed only once the registration fee has been paid in full. A final confirmation will then be sent by email.

  3. Pay the Admission Fee

€325 plus 22% VAT per team is the admission fee. The fee is invoiced by Nobodies Studios Società Cooperativa, Technical Partner of FIRST Tech Challenge Italy. Once paid, the fee cannot be refunded, even if your team withdraws or cannot take part in the final event.

  4. Organise your Accommodation

We highly recommend staying at Villaggio Accademia, the venue hosting the Championship. It is the most convenient way to experience the event, keeping your team at the heart of the action throughout the competition. Accommodation is available at special rates and includes full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Teams staying at the Villaggio will also have the opportunity to take part in dedicated evening activities and spend time together outside the competition.

You can indicate your interest in accommodation directly in the registration form. This is not a binding reservation; it simply helps us estimate the number of rooms needed and coordinate arrangements with the venue. Please note that accommodation must be booked and paid for directly with Villaggio Accademia. It is not included in the Championship registration fee and is subject to the venue’s own booking and cancellation conditions.

In accordance with the FIRST Youth Protection Program, students and adults must be accommodated in separate rooms. The only exception is parents or legal guardians sharing a room with their own child.
